How to tell if you need new tires?

By firestonecompleteautocare.com

Ever heard of the penny test?

With this easy test, a penny can buy you peace of mind when it comes to your tires.

Place a penny head first into several tread grooves across the tire. If you always see the top of Lincoln’s head, your treads are shallow and worn. If this is the case, your tires need to be replaced.

If part of Lincoln’s head is always covered by the tread, you have more than 2/32 of an inch of tread depth remaining. This means you probably don’t need new tires.

Seasonal Changes

By dsautomotive.com

Prepare your vehicle for Spring. Winter is ending and you can finally start to enjoy spring and warmer weather, but you are not the only one; your vehicle should be prepared to enjoy the spring weather as well.

Wash your vehicle. Visit a car wash that washes the vehicle’s exterior as well as the undercarriage.

Inspect, rotate, and align your tires. Winder driving is hard on your vehicle’s tires. Aligning and rotating your vehicle’s tires ensures safe wearing and will get the best life out of the tires.

Check your windshield wipers. Windshield wipers take a beating during the winter. It is best to change your wiper blades with the seasons, especially as the rainy season approaches. New windshield wipers will improve visibility and reduce the risk of an accident.

Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. will raise its Goodyear, Dunlop, and Kelly-brand consumer tires on April 1st.

The tiremaker says the price hike will be up to 8%.

Goodyear says the increases “are in response to changing market dynamics in the industry and reflect the strong value of the Goodyear brands”.
